The famous Mahanakhon Skywalk is one of the best premium attractions at the heart of Bangkok, combining spectacular views with an unmatched guest experience.
Located at the top of King Power Mahanakhon Building, the Mahanakhon SkyWalk is perfect for all visitors, all year round. Thailand’s highest observation deck at 314 meters offers 360 degree panoramic views from an indoor and outdoor viewing area, and is a must-see attraction to add to your Bangkok bucket list.
Level 1 / Floor 74: Indoor Observatory
A nice 360-degree panoramic view from the indoor observation area. This floor includes an interactive augmented reality experience and touch screen to learn more about Bangkok’s landmarks from above. A vending machine lets you easily sent postcards directly home for only 40,- THB.
Level 2 / Floor 78: Outdoor Observatory
The outdoor area consists of a small bar (Thailand’s highest) where you can purchase coffee, non-alcoholic drinks, champagne, cocktails, beer and more. On this floor there is the (not for the faint of heart) glass skywalk. For safety reasons it’s not permitted to bring a camera or smartphone on the glass.
Level 3: the Peak: A 360-degree viewpoint at 314-meter height.
” Magnificent and unique views in a casual atmosphere “
The King Power Mahanakhon Skywalk does offers several impressive 360-degree views spread over several floors. On the 78th floor there’s the impressive glass skywalk. Note that this is not for the faint of heart as you look 310 meter down but gives a great thrill and unique experience.
The implementation and use of technology adds to the entire experience such as the impressive elevator and the augmented reality app. There is not only attention for Bangkok’s famous landmarks but also for Bangkok’s day-to-day experiences (check the waiting area before entering the elevator); details that Co van Kessel highly appreciates. Upon exiting you will need to walk through the 4 floor of Mahanakhon’s duty-free shopping which might negatively affect the overall experience for some.
As there is no dress-code and it open daily at 10.00 it’s a good alternative for Bangkok’s fancy skybars.
